Punk rocked

Nice to see that Raul is being so much more tolerant than Fidel was:

Cuba has ordered jailed punk rocker Gorki Aguila, an outspoken critic of Fidel Castro and the communist government, to stand trial on Friday for "social dangerousness," a charge that could carry up to four years in prison.

Authorities arrested the 39-year-old lead singer of Porno para Ricardo at his Havana home on Monday, shortly after the band had completed work on a new album. Cuban law defines "social dangerousness" as behavior contrary to "communist morality," and police use it to detain offenders before they have a chance to commit a crime.

The story says the arrest has touched off an avalance of criticism on blogs in Cuba and here and that musicians "also sent e-mails decrying the case." That'll show 'em.

Now THAT will get you some punk rock cred. Seriously, "SOCIAL DANGEROUSNESS?" It's like they're trying to do PR for the band.

Gosh.... wouldn't this be an opportunity for all of the "civil rights" activists to rally????

Why do they rail against Gitmo prisoners only getting everything under the sun while this poor bastard rots in jail for excercising a right to free speech???

Yep, we are obviously the bad guys aren't we....what a rotten country we live in, eh??
