I base this not on sports knowledge but on my understanding of the rules of breakups. The No. 1 rule is: The first relationship you have after your heart is broken is never a permanent one; it is the interum affair, the placeholding fling that you enter into lightly while you mend. Look, saying someone's writing sounds like Ben Smith's writing is about the most offensive thing you could say to *any* writer. I couldn't disagree with you more. I like Leo's writing, I *loathe* Ben Smith's writing.
I've loathed Ben Smith's writing for YEARS. I fear if the newspapers are ever consolidated, we'll get the worst of both worlds, and lose quality sports writers like DiPrimio and Hayes and get stuck with crappy writers like Ben Smith and Steve Warden.
