Tailing the Komets

Report on Schrock

Early report is it's a charley horse.

``He's got a charley horse right now and he'll probaby be out for Wednesday unless there's a miracle recovery,'' Komets coach Al Sims said. ``He's pretty stiff right now.''

Players miss games for things like back spasms too. Doesn't seem like it should be such a big deal, but things like that are big deals for athletes.

We were very fortunate to come out with a win last night...

Narauto was fine while he was here, he worked hard, skated hard and dropped some nice f-bombs because darn near every Komet shot is from 20 feet away and nobody was scoring. The Komets still dont get guys to the net with regularity. Dayton does. Ever notice how there are alot of scrums around our net? On the flip side, the K's scrums in their offensive zone are usually in the corners. There is a reason for that, the K's play a perimeter game and every other teams that comes in here crashes the net.

It drives me crazy watching us go from one face off circle to the other playing the puck along the boards. The Musslewhite/Francis/Schrock line cycles the puck and gets it in front of the net. They were getting double shifted for a good portion of the second period. They get it!

Lardner worked his tail off last night. Boucher kept us in this game. If he doesnt stand on his head on several occasions its 5-1 going into the 3rd period. I thought Cescon had a strong defensive game despite being paired with Warner for most of it. BTW, there no coincidence that Warner is now being paired with our strongest defenseman. Why has Oconnor stopped checking? I thought he looked ok.

I'm glasd they got the 2 points last night. They need them desperatly. Sometimes you gotta win ugly.

This team is missing a spark. Danny Stewart, Brad MacMillan, Mitch Woods v1.0, Pascal Morency.

Schrock is playing hockey, as he should. The spot Legault resides in should have a player that hits everything in sight and drops the gloves. (Massie, Gauthier)

Leo Thomas and Schrock earn their keep every night.

How is it a guy comes up with "Schrocky Balboa" on a blog and the Frankes make money off of it, and the inventor still has to shell out $16 for a t-shirt. I'll be copyrighting my material from here on out so "the man" can't take advantage of me.

If Schrock misses tomorrow I believe it will be the first game with the Komets he has missed. I bet he'll fight hard to be able to play.

I will admit LeGault played better last night...however if given a choice for person to leave the team it should NOT be Patrasso, he also played hard last night.
Warner should not go, he MUST go.

I believe this has been said before, but it needs emphasis. We need a center who isn't afraid to camp out in front of the net. It seems we get "flashes" of a guy here or there that does it, but no one has the gumption to do it consistently, or so it seems. Get someone in front of the net toss pucks to the net and see what happens?? I should probably slow down.

No, JM, it went to spam for some reason. It's up now.

John Anderson missed two months of the season because he tried to come back too soon from a charley horse and it calcified and then knocked him out for all but one game in the playoffs.

Naurato is an excellent player, but in the system the Komets use he was not being utilized properly. The Komets like to play dumb and chase, Daytin is letting Naurato play and he is doing awesome. Great player but he wasnt a fit for the system we run, now if the system we run is right or wrong that is up for debate.

I thought the same thing when I noticed those shirts hanging up at the stand, JM.... Great nickname that they capitalized on....

If only Randy Brown would have allowed me to setup a folding table on the concourse. Altough, I'd probably be up to my ears in litigation if I tried to sell something similar online. Oh well, thanks to Blake's article I'll always have my claim to marginal fame.

i can't believe everyone is bashing warner, and no one is screaming foul. suprising...seems as if the vibe on him is changing.

It is hard to defend a guy who turns the puck over constantly. Resulting in goals or odd man rushes against our goalies. He might have a good game soon and than all the closet Warner fans will be back out.

Goon - you are absolutely right. Warner is bound to get lucky and have a decent game. Soon as that happens it will be thrown in everyone's face.

Before that happens i predict there will be a defense force put together on his behalf here. Someone throwing around stats in his favor.. Never-mind the fact that 80%(or more) of fans who witness his play seem to complain about him. Perhaps the negative nellies had another complaint pinned down right on this one huh?
