Andrea - I'm glad I'm not the only one who took that comment as a shot ;) I guess you, me, and the other 'casual fans' should feel fortunate that the Komets even permit us into the arena to watch hockey with all of these profesionals that see EVERYTHING we're too dim to observe.

Frozen Water...that was funny. Thanks. I guess the question to G_Hockey should be - what is a casual hockey fan? Maybe if I had clarification I would understand better. I've been attending Komet games since my father started taking me around 1980 (so I've been going for 29 years). I've grown up watching the Komets (I'm 31) so really I can say that I've grown up a Komet fan. I have had season tickets for several years now, and hope that trend continues. I guess the point I was trying to make, and I would say I wasn't originally clear enough, was that it was my opinion. I may not be seeing what others see in them, but it is my opinion. Take it or leave it. Nothing more, nothing less. Just because I don't agree with you doesn't mean I'm wrong, and vice versa. I watch the game, I understand the game, heck, I can even argue the game with others who have hockey knowledge. So that brings me to my next question - G_Hockey - how do you move up from being a casual hockey fan? Inquiring minds want to know.

Oops, looks like we've got a third-man-in situation! Everybody else step back... G-Hockey, how are you going to dig yourself out of this one? LOL.

Frozen Water--Please remember that anything said on this blog is never personal. Everyone is allowed to write their oppinion. Some make great common sense. Some are totally off the wall. I enjoy reading "ALL" of them. It is obvious to me some people haven't got a clue as to what they are talking about. Some are very well thought out. Sometimes they are really very funny. I use my name so people know who I am. That is not a put down of those who do not. I have had the privilege of meeting a lot of those who blog. NONE I have talked to in person have been over the top. Burgee is the only one I know that is on meds and Foo-Foos so he can get out of the house.

is a casual fan more important than a season ticket holder, what if they are one in the same, what if they are both, what does casual really mean?

What color med should i take before the game, i have decided to go with the Blue Colored Foo Foo tonight with a shot of Malibu.

Good point DSchebig. At times, I need to remind myself of that when I read anything. I was glad to have met you a couple of weeks ago before the game where you traveled up to Flint. However, I am still curious as to what constitutes a casual hockey fan to a non-casual hockey fan. Clarification would be appreciated. Frozen Water - I enjoy reading you and what everyone else post. Keep it up! I want everyone to keep posting...it adds an interesting dynamic to the day and also helps to see things in another perspective. Again, I'm still trying to figure out G_Hockey's commet from earlier, but I like it that G_Hockey is posting. Again, keep it up bloggers!!!

Burgee...I'm going to take a little white pill before the game tonight...it will help keep my bloodpressure down. Sometimes I can feel it go up when watching...as far as the adult beverage...that remains to be decided.

Andrea--I'm a casual fan because I wear jeans and not an evening gown to the games. I think that is what does it for me. ;) That's all I can think would constitute it. I know very little compared to most on here, lots compared to others (nobody really in that category here!), but I love the game and this team as much as anyone else, so I don't know how I could be more casual than anyone else, either. I lost my voice Halloween night yelling at Muskegon's players from section 215. I have never played professionally, though. Maybe that's the difference? LOL

Casual fans... non casual fans... Who knew there was elitism in hockey? Quite frankly, I don't think it matters. I've seen people who have been around the game all their lives who didn't have the sense that someone brand new to the game had.

Dearly beloved, we are gathered her today to remember G-Hockey, who made the classic blog mistake of unknowingly insulting a female fan. Dude! Run for your life!

I'm guessing this means G-Hockey won't be Wendy's next interview subject, right?

Super Fan has spoken--I am 63 years young and I have absolutely no idea what a casual fan could be. Maybe if you haven't been a fan for 50 years like me you could be a casual fan. I don't think soooo. Could the casual fan be the one who has only been to one game in their lifetime? That don't seem right either. I know! I know! The casual fan is the blogger who has never been to a game but watches on TV. I am in trouble now! Oh well been there done that and Burgee didn't even bring me a T-shirt.

I'm not positive what a casual fan is although I have a guess or two that I shall keep to myself.

I do think anyone who takes the time to read this blog and post comments (at least with some regularity) is beyond the "casual" stage.

You are all so funny. Blueline Baby - I thought about going out and getting a prom dress for the game, but I decided to stick with my jeans and Notre Dame hoodie. Maybe the casual fan is one who, while wearing jeans and a hoodie, thinks about going to a game, decides not too and then ponders the idea of watching it on tv and only catches about half the game. Who knows? But what I do know is that you all have put a smile on my face today so I thank you for that. I'm sure we all can agree that we are excited for the game tonight and are looking forward to a Komet victory. GO KOMETS!!!

I agree. Show Warner the door.

Actually, that's not quite enough to get me worked up, Blake. Okay, so maybe he was assuming she was a casual fan because she's female. I'm thinking that isn't the case, though. Now if he were saying, "All your comments sound like a stereotypical woman" and "Take your beauty parlor talk somewhere else", that would earn G_Hockey a 4-inch heel to the groin.

I like Warner.....but how is he good enough to be a forward on this team.....and he can't crack the line-up as a defenseman. I hate to say it, but when all of the guys are back in the fold in 30 days or less, 3 guys have to go. He just might be one of them. Or if he shines for the next 30 days, he might stay. But if it was a decision for today, not good news for him.

Chewy dominated the game last night with his speed and play-making ability. Once he and O'Connor gel together, look-out.
