Roughing the passer

Brett Favre is alleged to have e-mailed a photo of a certain part of his anatomy to three women. Junior Seau drove his SUV off a cliff after being accused of domestic battery. Ben Roethlisberger is back in the starting lineup after his suspension for sexual assault allegations. Micahel Vick served prison time for running a dogfighting ring. So in the Bad Behavior By NFL Players sweepstakes, this seems like pretty small potatoes:

Indianapolis Colts punter Pat McAfee has been arrested on suspicion of public intoxication this morning after he reportedly took a predawn swim in the Central Canal in Broad Ripple.

[. . .]

McAfee admitted he had been drinking and asked police if he could walk home. Police say he smelled of alcohol, his eyes were watery and bloodshot and his speech slurred. He also told them his shirt was in the water.

[. . .]

They took him in mostly for his own safety," Duhamell said. "He was cooperative but cold. It was 43 degrees or something like that."

Someone in Broad Ripple was intoxicated after midnight? There's a shocking development for you. Watch for Sen. Tom Wyss to introduce legislation making swimming under the influence (SUI) a crime. But who among us hasn't wanted to get a snottful and jump in some fountain or canal with our shirts off? S
