On the way back from lunch one day this week, I caught Rush Limbaugh saying this:
It's just like I said. I hope you people in Ohio, I hope you Democrats, I hope you lose your coal business. I hope he does bankrupt the coal business. I do. I hope you learn what you've done here.
Several times over the last few years, I've heard Rush denounce Democrats for hoping America failed because what was bad for America would be good for Democrats. While it's true that the worse it gets, the better the chance for the out party to get back in, people should not actually wish their country ill, so Limbaugh was exactly right. But hoping Ohio suffers just so it can get its richly deserved "told you so" displays the same kind of attitude. People tend to see sins on the other side that they don't recognize on their own side.
