Signs for stupid people

Dsc00203_1 I just had to share with you one of those "Doh!" signs that are encountered now and then, apparently for the purpose of explaining to stupid people possible mistakes that even the stupidest of people probably wouldn't make. What does that say about the people who come up with the idea for such signs? This particular one is at an entrance to one of the parking lots of St. Vincent's Hospital in Indianapolis.

Leo:
That sign reminds me of the FIRST time I saw BRAILLE elevator controls in a PARKING GARAGE! It must have been something to see that person DRIVE to that garage in the first place...
(yeah, I really know what it's for...NOW)

Then I figured out WHY they place those placards on the obvious places for the obvious reasons....
(drum roll please......)

LACK OF COMMON SENSE!

Somewhere between the time you and I were born, and today....someone forgot to keep making this a part of EVERYONE'S psyche.
And what a price we're paying now, eh?

No more common sense....now it's "rep" & "street cred". Like THEY mean *as much*....not hardly..in fact...not one iota.

Common sense seems to have gone the way of ETHICS and CIVILITY in many venues (and by a lot more people). Hopefully someone will *reinvent* the wheel (in this case), and signs like the above one won't be needed (and our tax money can be better utilized to make better signs that don't insult our intelligence).

Somehow...I just KNOW Thomas Paine is looking down and just shaking his head.

P.S. If you remove the wording on that sign...it DOES look stragely like a *new* OLYMPIC event...LOL!
