Study hab

A truly shocking discovery in Muncie:

MUNCIE -- It seemed like a good idea at the time: City and county officials in 2007 split the $70,000 cost of a study that analyzed local consumers' spending habits with a goal of attracting retailers and restaurants to the area.

Thanks to turnover in the offices of the mayor and Delaware County commissioners, however, the study was dropped in desk drawers and forgotten.

After The Star Press asked current officials about the study, they acknowledged that nothing had been done with it.

"That's a big expense to have gone to and nothing gets done with it, huh?" said commissioner Todd Donati, who came into office after the study was commissioned, received and shelved.

That's a big surprise, that a $70,000 study is gathering dust in a drawer somewhere, huh? Bet if you put all the money together spent by all Indiana communities on unused studies, there'd be enough to rid the state of its deficit and then some.

If you want a job that is lucrative and secure, just become a consultant to local towns and municipalities. They ALWAYS pay someone from somewhere (else) to "guide & advise". We spend thousands every year in lil' ol' Angola, I can't imagine what you poor bastards in Ft Wayne pay every year, but I imagine it's sizeable.
