I realize that there have been some rule changes over the years, but it seems Puhalski's teams rarely ever check anyone and rarely ever play physical. His "Euro-hockey" style of play bores many fans and helps play a role in taming a building that was once known as "The Jungle." Nobody becomes "the go to scorer" but each night we have someone different potentionally being a hero.
The pack beats each other up just enough and St. Pierre continues his solid play to allow us to sneak into the playoffs on BACK TO BACK shootout wins against the Fury and Wings the final weekend of the season. The Fury and Wings meanwhile were resting players as they have nothing to play for at that time.
We get ousted early because of:
We are emotionally and physically drained from the playoff push.
We show moments of resiliency in the first round. Steal one game maybe, but after we get punched right in the mouth by any one of the big three...we pack it in.
Have another key injury to deal with. Kevin St. Pierre breaks his back from carrying the entire team for the last 2 months. Enter Kevin "So this is what a UHL game is like" Kurk as our playoff goalie.
Later in the offseason St. Pierre is forced to retired because his arms and legs are surgically removed because of over use.
You know, you can play the "blame the coach" card sometimes but I really do not think this is the time. We have been very successful while he has been here. Its up to the players themselves to take matters in their own hands.
The toughness and hitting issues is not a style or coaching issue. Its more a personnel issue. Holliday was never healthy enough to play while he was here. Got blasted in a fight and never returned. Both Trombley and Worlton, while serve one useful purpose, were slow of foot and often times are concidered not an every shift type player.

puhalski"s systematic boring style of coaching is really old news! toughguys dont fit in with his style and big time scorers dont flourish with his coaching style either, how many top 10 league wide scorers have we had since he"s been here? as far as im concerned the only player that is safe from being trade bait is st.piere and maybe chaulk. the k"s clearly dont have the horses to run with some of the big dogs in the league so they had better keep making moves or it will be a quick playoff exit that is if they make the playoffs.
You all are so depressing. I love watching them, and yes we miss some of the players that have been moveed, but isn't that what we complained about with all the money the Guys were making those last couple of years in the IHL? I mean, give me a break, some of those guys just skated for a paycheck every time they hit the ice. These guys could all be doing something much more productive for their own lifestyles, but they LOVE hockey. Lighten up, give them a break, and I still say PULL(whatever the rest of his name is) is the entire problem.
