Theirs to lose

I think this is true:

Democratic insiders, who months ago thought their chances of winning a majority in the House were no better than even, and that the Senate was a lost cause, have become far more optimistic. Now, they say, winning the House is a lock, and the Senate is within reach.

``We have to go back to 1974 (during Watergate) to find such a favorable environment,'' says James Carville, who ran Bill Clinton's 1992 presidential campaign. ``If we can't win in this environment, we have to question the whole premise of the party.''

I have faith in your party, James. If anybody can screw this up and lose anyway, you guys can.

It's unfortunate that neither party are the parties that they used to be. My mother is a die hard voter and said both parties have went to the far left and right. I generally vote Democrat but I don't know who to vote for now. The Democrats want to let all the illegal aliens in and the Republicans just keep spending our money. I hope we see a really good middle of the road person run like Mitch Romney. Unless we do, I am not going to bother voting at all next time around and won't in the future until some decent people run.

The illegal aliens are already in. And the Republicans have controlled the federal government entirely for the past 5 years and the Congress for the past 12 years.

But yeah, Leo, the Dems can surely manage to lose this one. Maybe by letting the Republicans distract potential voters like Laura with a lot of immigration talk.

If you want to see how the Democrats can screw this up then look no further than our local Congressional race...

I don't see the Democrats doing anything great. If you read my post it said I would not vote for a Democrat or Republican unless someone decent runs. Illegal aliens are not the only problem. And yes there are millions already here but in case you haven't noticed, they are still coming in by the thousands.

``If we can't win in this environment, we have to question the whole premise of the party.''

I sure hope Carville is right. The whole premise of their party could use questioning.
