Opening Arguments

Turn out the lights . . .

The core of the Indianapolis Colts is aging fast, and the team doesn't have the young talent to replace it, so the team's remarkable run of 10 or more wins each season since 2002 may be over:

The Football Outsiders preseason projection system has given Indianapolis a mean projection of just 7.8 wins. In what we perceive as a very down AFC South, the Colts could still get a couple breaks and win the division at 9-7. However, we're projecting the Texans to finally wrestle control of the AFC South away from the Colts.

OK, it's official now; I'm depressed. The Bears aren't looking all that hot, either. The only team I follow that might actually do well this year is Detroit. Boy, never thought I'd say that.

I'm pessimistic, too. But even if the Colts stink this season, they had a hell of a run.
