What Al had to say

``You miss three breakaways in the first period, it's going to definitely hurt you and come back to haunt you. That's what we were doing earlier in the year. Lately we've been putting those things in. It was some of our best players. Russo out-played our goalies, there's no doubt about it, and he deserved the win.''
He definitely changed goalies, there was no injury to Nick Boucher.
``We're not getting big saves. Let's face it, some of the goals that are going in our building right now are not great goals. One or two of those a game, and if you're not scoring, you're going to have problems overcoming it. We need top-quality goaltending that's going to hold teams right now to two or less, which we've been used to all year. We give up four and we don't have much of a chance to win.''
``The seven minutes in the third obviously took us out of the game. That's just a discipline issue. MacMillan getting sucked in by Kostadine. He knew exactly what we was doing. He wasn't going to drop his gloves. You have to be smarter than that.''

I'm not a fan of peters myself, but that is neither here nor there... If we've turned the corner, how long until the next curve? I'll probably get some ridiculous responses to this one, but how many of you out there who love how things are going and how this team is playing can actually say you'd want all of these guys back next year, knowing the effort they show (or don't show) night in and night out this year? Call me negative, but I would not. I'd like some fresh blood in here with some fresh hearts, some fresh desire, and some fresh mentalities.

Frozen....you are so negative....LOL Negative Nelson.

Well, I think the Veteran limit will go down to 5 or 6 next season. We know Shaf will be retiring. It is hard to tell who of the Vets will return or not. Plus the salary cap is supposedly decreasing too. I don't know how many guys they can fit under the cap next year....but I am sure any guy that is in Fort Wayne and all ready has a job here would most likely be welcomed to play again. It is great marketing as we know for their day jobs. I don't need to point out who those guys are.

Next season all together is up in the air if you think about it. Who stays in this league, is there an IHL, and will there be new teams in the mix, old teams leaving, new league forming??? Too many questions.

I'm thinking we need to worry about this year and let the dust settle in all of minor leauge hockey this summer before we start building our wish list for next year.
