House call

You go, girl! Er, well, hold on a sec . . .

Police in northwestern Indiana say a 16-year-old girl allegedly drove 60 miles to beat up another girl who spread rumors about her on Facebook.

The alleged 17-year-old victim and her mother told police the other girl drove from Monticello to their LaPorte home in a pickup truck early Sunday morning. Police said the Monticello teen knocked the LaPorte girl down and kicked her when she went outside to meet her.

We sometimes start thinking we can say any old damn thing we want online, don't we? Just a virtual world, not really real, no harm done, right? Just remember, folks, most of the people you encounter in that virtual world have cars and they drive.

Seems to me that she drove 60 miles allegedly to beat up her victim , or perhaps she drove 60 miles to beat up someone who allegedly made defamatory statements online.

Is it possible that the police think she drove 60 miles when anybody else would have taken a route that was only 30 miles?
