Opening Arguments

Et tu, Charles?

Oh, come on guys! You, too? Really?

President Obama held an off-the-record meeting with five conservative journalists on Tuesday afternoon.

Present at the meeting were Charles Krauthammer, the Washington Post columnist and Fox News contributor; Paul Gigot, the Wall Street Journal editorial page editor; Robert Costa, the National Review's Washington editor; syndicated columnist Kathleen Parker; and Washington Examiner columnist Byron York, according to a source with knowledge of the meeting.

You're gonna get all cuddly with the president, just like the mainstream media lapdogs do, and agree to keep whatever was said to yourselves? And I'm still supposed to turn to you for insightful, hard-hitting critiquies of the administration and its evil progressive ways. If you agree to go off the record, there is nothing to be gained for the readers you are supposed to ber serving. All that's accomplished is that you get to feel good about one of the select few who get treated royally in the White House.

After watching the news conference yesterday about the government shutdown I am left with a new respect for the President.  He is now the 'Maestro' and the news reporters are his orchestra.  What a symphony!  Maybe these conservative journalists are tuning their strings.
