Not exactly a grand bargain

Yeah, that "budget deal" pretty much sucks:

But, as they say, something is usually better than nothing. The best part of the deal is that it takes government shutdown off the table as an issue to beat Republicans up over. That means the spotlight should stay on a sinking President Obama's failures, especially the disastrous Obamacare rollout. If that helps the GOP keep the House next year and take control of the Senate, that would give them a two-year window to make some real budget reforms and honestly rein in spending.

I'd feel a lot better about that if I really believed they'd actually do something so radical. I don't.
