Opening Arguments

Greetings, planet savers

Happy Earth Day! You remember those stories about Earth Day celebrations that left mounds of trash behind for somebody else to pick up? And the stories about global warmist Al Gore's mansion that uses roughly the same amount of electricity Fort Wayne does? This is in that same delightful vein:

A national nonprofit environmental group is turning up the heat on the Environmental Protection Agency for sending its chief on an Earth Day-themed tour to call for action on climate change, arguing the multi-city excursion will hurt the environment.

The Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility says the greenhouse gases generated by EPA administrator Gina McCarthy's week-long, five-city tour will "far exceed" any concrete action on climate change from her travels.

I sort of like the idea of the carbon tax to save the planet. If you pay more, you get to pollute more. I have my own version, though. If just one of you will do more than his fair share of carbon-footprint-lessening, then I can do a little less, and it will all even out.

Excuse me now. I have to go not recycle something.
