It's a pretty busy week for Komets defenseman Guy Dupuis to receive awards. For the third season in a row, Dupuis was named the league's Outstanding Defenseman today. The 38-year old leads all IHL blueliners with 16 goals, 67 points and a plus-32 rating. He also ranks second on the team in scoring behind P.C. Drouin.
Wednesday night Dupuis will officially pass Eddie Long for the Komets' all-time career games played record with 867. Long will be on hand to congratulate Dupuis on the achievement after the opening faceoff. The News-Sentinel will publish a poster of Dupuis on Monday commemorating the event.
They are going to have this presentation immediately after the opening faceoff on Wednesday so don't delay getting to your seat.
