What Al had to say

Here's some of Al Sims' post-game press conference:

"We didn't bear down on our chances, and Kalamazoo doesn't need a lot to score for whatever reason against us. They make the most of their opportunities. Tough loss. We ended up in the same place we started the weekend, and that's unacceptable.

"But the guys played hard and created opportunities. That's all they can do. If we can't finish at home, we can't finish at home. That's been the story all year and it continues tonight. We get eight goals on 13 shots in the third last night and not enough tonight.

"There's nothing we can try. You can try to create offense with your systems and stuff. You get a guy like Mathieu Curadeau right in front of the goal. All he's got to do is lift it over the goaltender's pad, and he can't do it, but 30 seconds later it's in our net. Huge turning point in the game, and our best guy didn't bear down. P.C. Drouin, the end of the game, walks right into the slot, hardest shot in the league, where does he shoot it? Right into him? He doesn't bear down. The guy is 5-foot-6, do you think we put it under the crossbar maybe?"
