The Komets announced Friday that veteran winger Tab Lardner has been acquired from the Missouri Mavericks of the Central Hockey League (CHL) in exchange for considerations.
Lardner, 30, is in his seventh season of play in the CHL and his 10th pro season. He has appeared in 15 games during 2010-11 with Missouri and leads the Mavericks with seven assists and ranks fourth on the team with 10 points. Lardner spent the last three seasons with Port Huron in the IHL and scored 95 goals and 186 points in 199 games.
The Edmonton, Alberta native is expected to arrive in Fort Wayne Monday and begin practicing with the Komets on Tuesday of next week.
