Some players likely skated their way off the Fort Wayne Komets on Saturday night during a 6-1 exhibition game loss at Dayton. The Komets fell behind 2-0 in the first period on a pair of unassisted goals and ever came close after that.
``They scored one breakaway and we had a couple of other breakdowns that led to their goals,'' Komets coach Al Sims said. ``They got two on the power play. We just didn't play very well and commit to it tonight.''
Brandon Naurato scored Fort Wayne's only goal on a power play off assists from Matt Ward and Tyler Fletcher.
``Some kids showed they belonged here and some kids showed they didn't,'' Sims said. ``Maybe that's a good thing. Almost everybody was a minus tonight, and I can't say anybody really had a good game.''
Sims said the Komets will wait until Monday to announce their first cuts.
