The International Hockey League is proud to announce that Muskegon Lumberjack right wing Robin Bouchard netted his 683rd career goal to become the all-time minor league goal scoring leader this evening. Bouchard passes former Bloomington PrairieThunder forward Don Parsons (682), who has not played since the 2008-09 season. The record-breaking goal was Bouchard's 56th of the 09-10 season.
Bouchard scored the record breaking goal at the 14:10 mark of the first period Sunday against Quad City, putting the puck past Mallard goaltender Jerad Kaufmann. Muskegon's Nick Schneider and Todd Robinson assisted on Bouchard's record breaking goal.
The 36-year-old Jonquiere, Quebec native is playing in his 16th season of professional hockey. He began his professional playing career in 1994 with the Roanoke Express of the ECHL. This season, Bouchard recorded his fifth 50-goal season. Of his 683 goals scored so far in his career, 556 of those have come as a member of Muskegon.
