Just a few highlights
* Flint goaltender Sergei Zvyagin was knocked out of the game after taking a shot to the head. Referee Jim Hawthorne did a great job by correctly insisting that Zvyagin get checked out by Flint's trainer.
* Leo Thomas left the game at the second intermission after getting hit knee-to-knee by Flint's Dan Lapointe. Thomas came back to skate a shift at the end of the second period, but sat out the third. He said his knee has a small sprain and he's hopeing to play Wednesday. He said if Saturday had been a playoff game, he'd have continued to play.
* Komets coach Al Sims was not happy with his team's defensive effort: ``I just think defenisvely we were terrible tonight. We've been terrible the last three games at home. It's a combination from the goaltender all the way out to the forwards. We have to focus on it in practice and drill it into their heads. We have a lot of home games coming up, and we need to start shutting teams down at home like we do on the road or we're not going to have much success.''
* Sims also benched the line of Colin Chaulk, Matt Syroczynski and Konstantin Shafranov from playing a pair of power plays when they were ineffective early. They came back to score a couple of goals: ``They came out and responded. Syro especially responded. The benching paid dividends.''
One more thing coming a little later.
