Yeah, it was a once-in-a-lifetime fluke, but let's not take too much away from the kid. Any spectacular sports play is a combination of skill and dumb luck, isn't it? Getting that tiny ball in the tiny cup on the green so far away is mere happenstance, but you have to be good enough to get the ball close enough. Bowling a perfect 300 requires those pins to fall into each other in just the right quirky ways, but you have to have the skill to get the ball in the strike zone 12 times in a row. Hitting that buzzer-beater was a fluke, but the player who made it had to have the talent and determination to stay in the game right up till that last second.
