Of course liberals and conservatives want government out of some things, just different things. Liberals want government out of the bedroom, and conservatives want it out of the boardroom. Libertarians would like to see it out of both. Liberals and conservatives are both willing to use the power of government when it's something they want. Libertarians consistently call for less government across the board.
