``I'm thankful for the time I've had in Fort Wayne,'' he said. ``I really appreciated the city which has shown me nothing but greatness. It's not fun to have to leave a place that you liked and wanted to be in, but that's hockey.''
Rizk said he was concerned that the Komets had four centers signed already and wondered if he was truly in their plans.
``It's not like I didn't want to play here,'' he said. ``All I wanted was a chance to play and be put in a role where I could contribute to the team. If they are saying we weren't close, then that's their point of view. It's however they want it to be perceived. All I'm going to tell you is I wanted a chance to play and win.''
