The $25,000 question

Our tax dollars at work:

What is the meaning of life? The answer is worth $24,953, at least according to the National Endowment for the Humanities, a taxpayer-funded federal agency that is providing an educational grant to study the question.

"What is the good life and how do I live it?" Well, for $25,000 in tax dollars, NEH has tasked someone with finding out.

Wow. Most of us spend our whole lives trying to figure out what it's all about. It's been the subject of endless debate by the most gifted philosophers throughout history and the ultimate subject of most of our best literature. Who knew the definitive answer could b e found for a mere $24,953?Only government.

I believe it was Edgar Allen Poe whos said, "The best things in life make you sweaty," and of course Douglas Adams had the best answer of all: "The Ultimate Answer to Life, The Universe and Everything is . . . 42!"
