Komets acquire Jason Dale

The Komets announced Wednesday that forward Jason Dale has been acquired from the Ontario Reign of the ECHL in a trade for cash.

Dale, 25, began his career in the ECHL in 2009-10 sharing the season with Utah and Bakersfield before jumping to the Central Hockey League (CHL) in 2010-11 and leading Bloomington with career highs of 35 assists and 52 points in 70 games while earning a spot on the CHL All Star Team.  The Toronto, Ontario native also made his AHL debut appearing in four games with Bridgeport during 2010-11.

In 2011-12 Dale matched his previous season's total of 17 goals and added 22 assists for 39 points with Bloomington.Last year Dale returned to the ECHL and scored 16 goals and 39 points while appearing in a team high 70 games with the Evansville IceMen.

2013-14 is Dale's fifth pro season.  The forward has split the year in the ECHL between Evansville and Ontario.  Dale started the season skating nine games with the IceMen before being claimed off waivers by the Reign Nov. 30.  Dale scored two assists and three points in nine games with Ontario before being acquired by Fort Wayne.
