I'm afraid I agree with the grocery & convenience store guy on this one:
But Joe Lackey, president of the Indiana Grocery and Convenience Store Association called the bill "absurd" because it unfairly singles out grocery and convenience stores for additional regulations.
Regulating where alcohol can be displayed will no more stop underage drinking than putting cold medication behind the counter will stop meth production. Training for alcohol servers? (Lesson 1: Ask for an ID if someone comes in on a skateboard!) More flexibility in enforcing alcohol laws? Whose hands are tied now? Not saying underage drinking isn't a problem. Don't think this is the answer.
