Mideast therapy

I love this recommendation, tucked inside the report of the Iraq Surrender Study Group:

This diplomatic effort should include every country that has an interest in avoiding a chaotic Iraq, including all of Iraq's neighbors. Iraq's neighbors and key states in and outside the region should form a support group to reinforce security and national reconciliation within Iraq, neither of which Iraq can achieve on its own.

A support group. That conjures up a picture of a weekly therapy session, perhaps led by Mr. Baker himself, who does have certain Bob Newhart-like qualities. "Now, Syria, you've been talking for an hour, so why don't you be quiet for a while and let Jordan speak. What's that, Iran? You think America has been picking on you again? Well, how does that make you feel? Go with that. Put your hand down, Iraq, and just listen. This is for your benefit, you know. Carrol! Where's my coffee?"
