OWENSBORO, Ky. -- An Indiana woman charged with helping her boyfriend escape after a triple murder is asking a judge to dismiss charges against her by validating a marriage license.
Misty Davis wants Daviess Circuit Judge Henry "Mac" Griffin to approve her marriage to Nicholas Harbison. Davis contends that if she can prove that she was married to Harbison, prosecutors will have to drop charges of assisting a criminal.
In Indiana, where she is charged, a spouse cannot face such a charge.
When people talk about the "sanctity of marriage," I don't think this is what they mean.
