Deal those cards again

The clamor for casinos has begun:

The hypocrisy in Indiana's casino regulations is showing. When Hoosier Park horse track in Anderson opened the doors on a 93,000-square-foot casino Monday, it blew away any rationale the state has for requiring casinos to be "riverboats."That always was a pretty flimsy argument, and when the state did away with the requirement that riverboats cruise, there was no reason that land-based casinos shouldn't have been approved. Now that land-based casinos exist, there's no reason that Michigan City, Gary, East Chicago, Hammond or any of the cities along the Ohio River that have casinos shouldn't be allowed the same courtesy.

We d,o in fact, have land-based casinos now, and legislators who want to still resist the spread of gambling (the few who are left) will have to come up with a different rationale.
