Are we to now put reporters in the "we can dish it out, but we can't take it" camp? Helen Thomas certainly seems to belong there. After her comment that "The day Dick Cheney is going going to run for president, I'll kill myself" was spread over the Internet, she complained that she was just "sounding off to a longtime friend" and that her comments "were not meant for publishing." As many members of the White House press corps probably dream of saying to President Bush, "Gotcha!"
