The even-toed ungulates' revenge

Man, you really know times are tough when even the deer start killing themselves:

MARKLE, Ind. - Five deer that wandered onto a highway overpass jumped to their deaths on Interstate 69, one of them crashing through a tractor-trailer's windshield, Indiana police said.

Indiana Department of Natural Resources spokesman John Salb said the Friday. They fell 20 to 30 feet onto the highway.

The driver of the tractor-trailer rig struck by one of the deer was not injured, police said.

Sure, nobody was injured -- this time. I warned you people a couple of weeks ago that the high number of deer-vehicle accidents represented the revenge of the deer for all the culling hunts (don't say that fast too many times) at state parks. Well, these suicide missions -- let's call them what they are -- are just the next stage in their plot. If you wait for proof, until the pamplets come out ("Ruminants Unite!") and the protest songs are sung ("Only a Fawn in Their Game"), it will be far, far too late.
