Don't know? Ask your kids

All schools that get federal money have been required this year to devote a day to teaching students about the U.S. Constitution. How much do you know? Take this 10-question quiz and find out. Not to put any pressure on you, but I got 9 out of 10 right.

Actually, our schools turn out tens of thousands of students each year who are pretty Constitutional-literate. I've been a judge for several years for a program called We The People, in which schools commit to teaching the Constitution -- usually in a government or civics class -- for a whole semester, then take part in a nationwide competition run through the U.S. congressional districts. The program began in 1987 as part of the bicentennial celebration of the Constitution, and it's been growing ever since.
