Well, it's a start:
The Indiana Court of Appeals will begin Internet broadcasts of most oral arguments starting this month.
Chief Judge John Baker says the webcasts will give the public another opportunity to learn about the issues before the court.
The most meaningful change would be getting the cameras into lower-level courts so we can see actual trials on the Web. When we were guaranteed the right to a public trial, the only way to get it was for people to physically travel to the courthouse. That's not true today, so not taking advantage of the available technology is tantamount to not making trials public.
