Good news for fans of informed-consent of the governed:

The Indiana Debate Commission says the three candidates in this fall's U.S. Senate election have agreed in principle to take part in three televised debates.

The nonpartisan commission announced Thursday that it was seeking sites for the debates between Republican Dan Coats, Democrat Brad Ellsworth and Libertarian Rebecca Sink-Burris.

Even more would be better. Because they were seeking a shot at an open seat, the GOP primary Senate candidates participated in a series of debates throughout the state, and there was no excuse at all for any voters to say they didn't have a chance to understand the issues.
