The city of Fort Wayne isn't the only government unit in the state that carelessly spends money on consultations of dubious value:
Some in Washington Township are questioning why the school district is spending tens of thousands of dollars a year on two public relations firms.
Washington Township Schools contracts with Nora Hiatt for about $6,000 a year and LeeWillis Communications, a PR firm run by former 6News anchors Clyde Lee and Diane Willis, for about $30,000 a year, 6News' Kara Kenney reported.
At least it appears the bulk of the money is going to a local PR firm, hint, hint. Many (most?) school districts in the state have a public information person, often a former reporter, who handles PR and a lot of other things. Assuming this district does as well, that's a big waste of money. Of course, I also have always resented cities having lawyers on the payroll and still paying big bucks to hire outside legal help.
