Mike Pence had planned to announce his gubernatorial intentions on Monday, but delayed it on the news of Osama bin Laden's death:
We thought it would be more appropriate to make that announcement later this week,” Pence said. “This is a day that every American ought to celebrate.”
Well, yeah, that, and the fact that nobody would have paid any attention if he had announced on Monday. Bin Laden's takedown is one of those stories that are so big they knock everything else to the back pages and the bottom of the newscast. Those devastating tornadoes in the South are one of the biggest weather stories of recent years, and hardly anybody has been talking about them. Thank God they waited till after the royal wedding
