This would count as a breakthrough in the president's thinking if anybody believed he actually meant it. Speaking of the lack of a budget compromise due to the mean people "playing politics," President Obama warned that there will be repercussions on Main Street:
“Companies don't like uncertainty and if they start seeing that suddenly we may have a shutdown of our government, that could halt momentum right when we need to build it up — all because of politics.”
Haven't companies that have been reluctant to spend all the money they're sitting on been trying to tell him this for two years? Now all of a sudden he cares?
