Barely contained

I'm afraid The Associated Press has irritated my inner nitpicky word curmudgeon to life:

DETROIT — Workers at three Indiana facilities comprising Chrysler's largest United Auto Workers local have voted in favor of a new four-year contract, a sign that the deal will be approved when voting ends next week.

Please, please, please, people. The whole comprises the parts, not the other way around. So: The U.S. Senate comprises 100 senators. Not: 100 senators comprise the U.S. Senate. And never: The U.S. Senate is comprised of 50 senators. Just remember that "to comprise" means "to contain" and you'll be fine.

OK, you may return to your normal lives now. The funny man is finished ranting.
