Vincent A. Musetto of the New York Post, writer of what many consider to be the greatest headline in the history of tabloid journalism, has retired.
The story also refers to some of the other all-time great tabloid headlines compiled by New York magazine in 2003, such as "Ford to city: Drop dead," "Kiss your asteroid goodbye!" and "Axis of weasels." Commenters include some of their favorites, including (on the death of Ike Turner), "Ike beats Tina to death" and "Fertile man dies in Climax" (referring to two towns in Illinois).
