No one from the league is talking about what was said during the board of governors meeting, Thursday, but this was a fantastic first period with plenty of hitting. Both teams came out flying at each other right off the bat, and Jim Hawthorne let them play. There was great pace to this, playoff pace.
Wings are up 1-0 on a short-handed goal. Kzoo is playing its forwards high on the Komets' defense on the pp, and it worked. There was a two-on-one when Mario Larocque fell down and Kory Karlander hit a perfect wrist shot.
Shots were 13-11 FW, but the Ks were't getting to many rebs so most of the shots were from outside.
A real fun game to watch so far.
