Things from the coach

On McWhinney: “He made some timely saves and the guys didn't quit in front of
him,'' Komets coach Pat Bingham said. “He rose to the occasion and worked hard.''

``He has massive potential and he's capable of making the big save,'' Bingham said. “He's not quite as systematic or as orthodox as Kevin (St. Pierre) is, but if he loses his position or his angle, he certainly battles to make that second save. He made a number of scrambling second saves throughout the course of the game.''

On the comeback: “I can't speak for everybody, but I try to show that never quit, never-say-die attitude,'' Bingham said. “The guys made me look good. If you work hard enough, you refuse to quit. You don't ever quit, you just run out of time. We happened to score before we ran out of time. It's a nice victory, a nice team-builder.''

Bingham also gave credit to injured forward Daniel Goneau who made the trip to Flint and worked behind the bench when he could have been home watching football.
