The first practice is done.
There was a lot of high-speed skating and drills, and coach Pat Binham almost immediately jumped into teaching some of his systems, especially for entry into the zone and some neutral ice stuff. Because it was all drills, nobody stood out, but more importantly nobody looked out of place. Guys came into camp in pretty good shape. Nobody was huffing and puffing in the locker room 10 minutes after practice -- which I've sometimes seen in the past. The tempo remained pretty consistent all the way to the end of practice, too. The mood throughout practice was pretty good as both coach and players were cracking jokes.
No, there were no fights.
Aubin has a bad back. He says he'll be ready in a few days, the Komets say let's go get an MRI.
