Komets coach Al Sims feels your frustration because he may be twice as frustrated as you are, and he cut loose a little after the game.
When asked about changing up the lines, Sims said. "We have to. We're scoring one goal at home every night. Obviously things have to change. Either personnel have to change or line combinations, whatever it may be, but we can't keep going along like this."
When asked about his team's defense, Sim said. "I don't know what to say. We just lost to the worst team in the league. To say anything positive about it isn't going to happen."
Then he finished with, "I can't score for the guys. We have empty nets, we have 2-on-1s where we can't make the pass. Shafranov, our best passer can't make a pass across the ice to someone. Or we can't hit the empty net. I don't know what it is. Or they get a goal that shouldn't go in. It's just one thing after another. We just find ways to lose at home. Guy Dupuis takes a penalty, and we talked about it before the third period again about penalties. Eventually it's going to come back to bite us, and tonight we couldn't kill off that one more power play. Why you'd even get involved with a guy, a 1:30 left in the game, why even go near a guy on a play where we're getting the puck, absolutely innocent, and give the ref an opportunity to make that call is beyond me. It's just inexcusable, especially for a veteran player."
It could be a really long bus ride to Port Huron tomorrow.
