The Komets have placed veteran forward/defenseman Blair Stayzer on waivers. If he is not claimed in 24 hours by another International Hockey League team, he'll be a free agent. Stayzer had one goal and 34 penalty minutes in 13 games this season. He's been on the 30-day injured reserve list since Dec. 4 with a concussion, but is now ready to play, Komets General Manager David Franke said.

I don't know what the answer is as far as roster size goes. There ought to be a way for teams to be able to provide their fans with the best entertainment without the possibility of "hiding'' players on injured reserve because then the rich just get richer. I don
