Haun lives up to vote of confidence

A couple of notes

IF, and it's a BIG IF, the Komets win the cup tomorrow night, please be aware that security around the dressing room is going to be a lot tighter after the game than it has been in the past two years. A lot fewer people will be participating in the festivities in the actual locker room this time.

The other thing is, if you had to pick right now, who would be the MVP? Three are some really good candidates in P.C. Drouin, Nick Boucher, Matt Syroczynski, Justin Hodgman, Guy Dupuis and Colin Chaulk. Who would get your vote?

Boucher will start Saturday

Before Friday's Game 4, Komets coach Al Sims went to Nick Boucher and asked him if he wanted to start again in Flint. Boucher said, no, give Timmy a shot, so Tim Haun played in Game 4 and was brilliant. Sims then said Boucher will start Game 5 Saturday in Fort Wayne. I talked to Haun after the game and he said he was fine with that. In fact, everybody seems to be fine with it.

Komets are up 4-2 11:25 left

Generals tied it with a power-play goal and a lucky bounce, but Colin Chaulk scored in front, and then Syro tipped in P.C.'s blast from the point. Komets are starting to clamp down the defense on this, but

Crowd is...

4,065, standing room only. The Generals are estimating 500 Fort Wayne fans in attendance.

Biggest crowd here since Darren McCarty's first game in 2008.

The line of O'Connor, Drouin and Thomas can do just about anything they want on the ice. They are absolutely dominant.

Interesting tidbit

When tied 2-2 in a series, the Komets have won Game 5 nine of the last 10 times. Before this hot streak, they were 3-7. Of those last 10 games, seven were played at Memorial Coliseum, just like this Game 5 will be. The one loss was in 1994 when they lost in triple overtime to Atlanta 7-6. They led that game 5-0 before the Knights started their comeback.
