Things are tough all over:

The recession has directly hit more than half of the nation's working adults, pushing them into unemployment, pay cuts, reduced hours at work or part-time jobs, according to a new Pew Research Center survey.

Good shot

A misplaced modifier will give you a funny sentence nine times out of 10. "Man shot by officer in good condition" says the Indianapolis Star headline. All the officers in poor condition were undoubtedly at the donut shop.

As the national debt tops $13 trillion for the first time (a grim milestone, indeed), a reminder of the GWB and BHO contributions to the mess:

Well, this is big if it's true. Fox News is reporting that Mark Souder will resign as 3rd District U.S. representative today "after it came to light that he was conducting an affair with a female staffer who worked in his district office."

Multiple senior House sources indicated that the extent of the affair would have landed Souder before the House Ethics Committee.
