The News-Sentinel wants to find people interested in becoming Trusted Community Voices to boost our web presence. Essentially, as I understand it, they are looking for folks interested in writing small stories about high school and small college sports which would then be posted on a local message board. No, the Komets are not an option, and neither are Indiana basketball or Notre Dame football or the Colts. We've got people for those, though as always feel free to comment on those sections.
The Komets announced Wednesday that three more players have agreed to terms and have been added to the preseason roster.
Defenseman Simon Mangos and forwards Adam Krug and Shane Heffernan have inked agreements and will be in the Komet camp when it opens on Monday, Oct. 10.
Just talked to David Franke.
On Jimmy Bonneau: ``I talked with him earlier in the summer, but he was pretty confident he was going to get an AHL deal. If he doesn't, I'm sure I'll hear from him.''
On Dustin Molle: ``We've talked to him. Al talked to him last week, but he still hasn't sent his contract in. Maybe Dustin is waiting to see where his brother goes.''
Vince's Restaurant is proud to announce the hosting of a Guy Dupuis Retirement Celebration Tuesday August 9th from 6-9 p.m. at Vince's Restaurant located at 10460 Maysville Road, Ft Wayne, Indiana..

No matter who shows up on the transactions page now, Komets General Manager David Franke isn't guaranteeing anyone a roster spot.
``We're going to have more good kids in training camp so there will be genuine competition for jobs this year,'' Franke said. ``Just because you have signed, there are going to be people looking for your job so you have to be ready to go. That makes for competition in training camp and brings out the best in everybody.''
The Komets announced Wednesday that Danny Lapointe and Tom Mele will be returning to the Komet lineup when the 60th anniversary camp begins Oct. 10. Rookie Jordy Trottier has also been given a spot in the training camp.
Just got back from Tim's funeral and it was extremely well done. There haven't been too many funerals I've attended where I felt better coming out than I did going in, but this was one. It was very inspirational, and really showed the kind of man Tim was. Bloggers were represented and quoted in the service as well. The pastor did a wonderful job. There were about four others who spoke, and the story telling probably could have continued all day. Lots of laughs to go along with the tears. Tim would have blushed with everyone praising him.
