Tailing the Komets

A pro's pro

Like Larry Schmitt on the PA or George Drysdale having a joke to tell, Doug Gruber was a constant a Komets home games. He wrote stories for the local NPR affiliate, loved to talk baseball and had a wonderful perspective on things. He died Thursday after a long battle with several illnesses. He was one of the behind-the-scenes folks who make going to the Komets games a unique experience, one of the folks who often get taken for granted.

Rest in peace, my friend. You'll have the best seat in the house for spring training.

Fleming update

MRI was negative so there is not a tear in a tendon or ligament in his ankle. The Komets are treating it like a sprain, and it appears to be feeling better. He will go on the trip to Florida, but it's unknown if he'll play. Every player is going to Florida except Jason Dale who is on the 21-day injured reserve.
